Going Beyond the Music
This past summer, I had the incredible opportunity to go to Uganda. There, I lived with a family in their home, did what they did, ate what they ate, and attempted to speak the language of Lumasaba.
While I was there, my heart broke for the widows in the Kimwanga village, where I lived. I knew I had to do something. I couldn’t just see this and do nothing about it. So I decided that I would use my music platform as a means to raise awareness and support for the widows.
Most of the time, widows were forgotten and neglected. You and me, as believers in Christ, are responsible to care for them. Most of these women are all alone, left to fight the struggles of life on their own. Often they are dispossessed of their farmland & other belongings. If they do not have food, they do not eat. When they have no food, they attempt to sleep away their hunger and pain. Many live in extremely poor conditions.
Most common needs are:
Finding a place to live, finding work, finding food, help performing day-to-day tasks
The Kimwanga Project exists to raise awareness and funds to buy dire necessities like food and laundry soap for these widows. In addition, support will help cover household emergencies [leaky roof, repair latrines, etc.]
The problem has always existed, but we have just now seen. And now that we have seen reality, we are responsible to do something about it. Remaining silent would only lend a hand to their suffering.
I will be selling bracelets at concerts and worship events to help raise money for my friends in Uganda. The bracelets are from Uganda and serve as a reminder to pray for these women that are in need of our prayers and support.
If you’d like to play a role in this mission please e-mail me at:
I’d love to partner with you in this cause!

[Jesus will say] “‘I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me…’ Then these righteous ones will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink? Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing? When did we ever see you sick…and visit you?’ And [Jesus] will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it for one of the least of these, you were doing it for me!’”
-Matthew 25.35-40
